PNC-27 is a research peptide studied in laboratories for its apparent ability to selectively kill cancer cells in cell cultures and animal models. It has drawn attention as a potential anti-cancer agent, but it has never been tested in humans and is not an approved or proven cancer treatment.

How PNC-27 works
It contains a sequence that binds a protein (HDM2) found on the surface of some cancer cells, and it appears to punch holes in the cancer-cell membrane, killing the cell. This selectivity for cancer cells in lab studies is the appeal, but whether it works safely in humans is entirely unknown.

A worked example
A 5 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water gives 2.5 mg/mL. A 500 mcg dose is then 0.2 mL — about 20 units on a 100-unit insulin syringe, giving roughly 10 doses per vial before accounting for residual volume left in the vial and syringe.
