Mazdutide is an investigational dual agonist of the GLP-1 and glucagon receptors, developed for chronic weight management and metabolic disease. Phase 2 and 3 studies have reported substantial weight reduction.

How Mazdutide works
It activates GLP-1 receptors to reduce appetite and food intake, while also activating glucagon receptors to increase energy expenditure and hepatic fat mobilization. The dual mechanism aims to reduce intake and raise burn at the same time.

A worked example
A 10 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water gives 5 mg/mL. A 6000 mcg dose is then 1.2 mL — about 120 units on a 100-unit insulin syringe, giving roughly 1 doses per vial before accounting for residual volume left in the vial and syringe.
