Dihexa is a research peptide derived from angiotensin IV, developed for cognitive enhancement. In animal and cell studies it showed remarkably potent effects on synapse formation and cognitive function, which has made it prominent in nootropic circles. It has never been tested in humans.

How Dihexa works
It binds and activates hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) signaling, promoting the formation of new synaptic connections between neurons. In animal models of cognitive impairment this improved learning and memory. The same growth-promoting potency that makes it interesting is why its long-term safety — particularly regarding cell growth — is a significant unknown.

A worked example
A 10 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water gives 5 mg/mL. A 10000 mcg dose is then 2 mL — about 200 units on a 100-unit insulin syringe, giving roughly 1 doses per vial before accounting for residual volume left in the vial and syringe.
