What Dermorphin is
Dermorphin is a naturally occurring opioid heptapeptide originally isolated from the skin of South American frogs. It is far more potent than morphine in animal studies. It has no approved human use and has surfaced as a doping agent in horse racing, where it is prohibited. It is a potent opioid with serious risks.

How Dermorphin works
It binds mu-opioid receptors — the same target as morphine and fentanyl — producing powerful pain relief and sedation. Its unusual amino-acid composition makes it resistant to some breakdown, prolonging its effect. As a potent opioid, it carries the full class risks of respiratory depression, dependence, and overdose.

A worked example
A 5 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water gives 2.5 mg/mL. A 500 mcg dose is then 0.2 mL — about 20 units on a 100-unit insulin syringe, giving roughly 10 doses per vial before accounting for residual volume left in the vial and syringe.
